Poems from Paint Branch Elementary 6th Graders

Swimming

Gabriel, 6th Grade - Paint Branch Elementary School
Swimming in the pool, that's what I will do
With my friends that's where I'll be
I'll play, dive, laugh, and swim
Maybe I'll use my goggles
Many types of tricks I can learn
In my line I learn to dive
Never a bad moment when your having a blast
Going to the pools everyday is a ball

October

Makayla, 6th Grade - Paint Branch Elementary School
The wonderful month of October
When the fog appears
When the tricks and treats
Where the leaves drop like rainfall
Where it gets cold as ice
When our boots start to talk
When everyone is someone that they are not on the last day of the month

Average School Days

Kellan, 6th Grade - Paint Branch Elementary School
As the wind from the fan blew
as the eyes of lives are barely open
as they teach you lessons
that you think aren't worth it
the boredom spreads like peanut butter

The boys tap their desks
and one listens
the one that listens
has his feelings hurt
as he is made fun of
for his intelligence

It is time that the feast
one has ham and cheese
one has peanut butter and jelly
they wait and they wait
until teach time is over

Dolphins in the Ocean

Sydney, 11th Grade - Fairmont Heights High School
Here I swim, with my dolphin
They jump around and flip me in the air.
I am near California.
There are lots of different kind of dolphin's
I am a bottled nosed dolphin.
I slip into the water to find food to eat.
My predators are sharks and some bigger
animals than me that live in the ocean with me.
I see something standing on land that I have seen
before.
There's noise coming from there. I continue to
swim away.

Last Day of School

Verlyn, 11th Grade - Fairmont Heights High School
It's only half a day
Why should I come?

To be with your friends
It's gonna be fun

But it's gonna be sad
To see everyone go

Yes it will be sad
I know, I know

So what do I do what do I do
I can't handle all this stress

Say see you later to all your friends
and farewell to all the rest.
