Fairmont Heights High School IT Academy

Tucked away in a small neighborhood lies a small school where students are doing big things. Fairmont Heights High School was the first school to open it’s doors in 1950 to African American students. The Information Technology Academy at Fairmont Heights High School is moving the school into the 21st Century and beyond. It began about five years ago during the 2011-2012 academic school year to provide an opportunity for students to learn vital and relevant IT skills such as coding, computer repair, and even app design.

Oxon Hill Middle School College Tours

Five universities have welcomed the Kings and Queens of Ft. Washington, Maryland to visit their institutions of higher learning. Every year Oxon Hill Middle School takes Kings & Queens to the University of Maryland at College Park, Bowie State University, Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University and the University of Maryland at Baltimore County.

Senior Profile:Shirleah Ragin

Shirleah Ragin’s high school career is one of no regret. As a senior in the Class of 2016 at Northwestern High School these four years of high school have been a time of growth and perseverance. As a senior, Shirleah would not go back to do anything over because if she did not go through what she did she would not be who she is today. Shirleah believes she did everything she could along the way. She also knows there were many people there to help her.
